Overview: Detective Clay Bryce is investigating the murder of the wife of a prominent Santa Fe plastic surgeon, Doctor Ronald Quenneville. During his investigation, he learns the gun that was used to kill Quenneville’s wife also was used in the murder of Alys Chapman.
The beautiful and mercurial Mackenzie Stanton, Alys’ former roommate, is convinced it was Quenneville who killed Alys, but the surgeon refuses to admit he had been having an affair with Alys.
Mackenzie is convinced that her self-declared gift of ESP will help Bryce identify Quenneville as the killer of the two women. But her unwanted intrusion into his investigation causes Mackenzie to become a target herself.
