Overview: The world of Ithria was home to powerful sorcerers and even more powerful Gods before the Great War two thousand years ago in which most Sorcerers, magic users of every kind and many of the Gods were killed. Those Gods who survived did so in a crippled state and are only slowly regaining their power now, 2,000 years later. The Great War was followed by the rise of the Revilers, a worldwide movement who sought to destroy all traces of Gods, Sorcerers and magic users of any kind from the face of the world. Books were burnt, buildings leveled stone by stone and anyone who showed signs of being able to use magic were slaughtered out of hand.
The movement self destructed very quickly but left the world bereft of magic information and trained magic users. It wasn’t the end of magic, though, as many who had magical ability survived to pass their ability on even if they had no training. Two thousand years later, the population has recovered from the disasters and of the Great War and the depredation of the Revilers and magicians are common and seen as a status symbol by many kings and nobles.
Although most knowledge was lost, some small bit s and pieces survived and now there are two magical colleges at either end of the world and the power of magicians and Gods alike is slowly returning. These are stories from this time, an age of advances and the rise of the first sorcerers in two thousand years.
