Lincoln ‘Linc’ Hayes Jr. and Simone ‘Moni’ Evans were raised by their fathers after the death of their mothers. That was where the similarities ended.
Linc came from a wealthy family in Staten Island, New York. He never experienced a financial struggle, but he was very familiar with emotional struggles. His relationship with his father, Senior, was doomed from the start. The death of his mother broke their already fragile foundation.
Meanwhile, Moni lived in a one-bedroom apartment with her father in North Philadelphia. What they lacked in finances, they made up for in love. Derrick Evans has worked tirelessly to provide for his daughter. After the death of his wife, his only goal was to make all of her dreams come true.
Linc and Moni meet at Blake University on move-in day. Their first encounter proved to be less than impressive. It was clear they had very different goals. Moni promptly labeled Linc off-limits. But at nineteen, do you ever listen to that tiny voice?
