Overview: Because not all fairytales are for children…

The electric age was no more. Gone for so long, the people living in the present had no memory of it ever existing. Gone too were the machines, the wondrous miracles, and all the other advancements and achievements produced by distant ancestors. Even the ancestors themselves were forgotten. As it was now was how it had always been. It was how it would always be. Everyone knew this.

Until…

He did not know who he was. He had no name. He had no origin, no kin, and no caste. Nothing explained how he came to be and yet, he was.

Some say legends are histories told of times before time; of memories remembered and of memories lost.

He didn’t know who he was. He had no name. He had no origin, no kin and no tribe. Nothing explained how he came to be and yet, he was.

In a land without any of his kind, he was their fear. To know him, to know of him, to not betray him to the Wasp Riders was to face extermination. Not just his. All of them. All who knew him. Every soul.

This was the rule that could not be broken and would not be excused.

The wasps and their riders were untouchable. Together, they were deadlier than any challenge. The wasps were the tool that kept humanity in its place; kept them as they were and as they would always be. Adored and worshiped by many, for some, they were hated.

The wasps could not be challenged. They could not be defeated. They had never been defeated in all of time. Wasn’t that correct?
