Overview: Lawrence Person (born 1965) is an American science-fiction author, critic, and editor, based in the Austin, Texas area.
His short fiction has appeared in major genre magazines such as Asimov’s Science Fiction, Analog Science Fiction and Fact, and in anthologies.
Person also edits the SF critical magazine Nova Express, which has been nominated for a Hugo Award, and has been an organizer of the writers’ group Turkey City Writer’s Workshop.
In addition to fiction, his non-fiction and commentary have appeared in outlets like Reason, national-review magazines, and critical journals of SF.
He is also known for his critical essays and commentary on SF trends and culture — for instance his “Postcyberpunk Manifesto.”
