Overview: William H. Keith was born on August 8, 1950.
Though he started out as an illustrator, Bill Keith is primarily a writer with sixty-nine books published, ranging from science fiction to action-adventure to military technothrillers. His first love is science fiction, however, especially military SF with a realistic, hard-science edge.
Since 1984, Keith has been writing full-time. Some of his novels have been game-related—notably five books set in FASA’s BattleTech gaming universe—but most have been in his own universes, where he has a bit more flexibility in the stories he can tell. Even so, the gaming field has been good to him. His BattleTech novel Tactics of Duty won the Origins gaming award for Best Game-Related Fiction of 1995.
