Overview: Charles Runyon was born June 9, 1928 in Sheridan, Missouri, and after studying at various universities, worked as an editor for oil companies. He began writing fiction in the mid‐50s, primarily for the men’s magazines, and produced over 20 novels. He was nominated for the Edgar Allan Poe award of the MWA for Power Kill. Runyon is also known for his dystopic science fiction, as well as three ghost‐written Ellery Queen novels. He died on June 8, 2015, in Cedar Park, Texas.
