Overview: Steve had his first book, A Very Important Teapot, published (by Claret Press) in 2019. He was 66 at the time. One of his many regrets is that it didn’t happen when he was 26 but he spent 40 years not realising that the two keys to writing a successful novel are (a) “making it up as you go along” and (b) becoming a celebrity first, as that makes it much easier to sell books.
He has now “made up” four more books, Bored to Death in the Baltics (2021), Poor Table Manners (2024), Lazytown (2025) and, just published, False Connections. The first three books form the Dawson & Lucy Series of Spy Thrillers with laughs, set respectively in Australia, Estonia and South Africa.
