Owl’s Well That Bears Well by Maggie Herskowitz (Bard & Bestiary Book 1)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 2.4 mb
Overview: An overachieving human intellectual. Her half-orc, half-vampire ex-boyfriend. One orphaned baby owl-bear. What could go wrong?
Twenty-seven-year-old Helena de Narbon is 75% human, 25% fairy, and 100% anxiety. She has long since given up her dream of working with magical creatures—until her former mentor invites her to join a study on owl-bears at a remote mountain research site.
Kindhearted researcher Bertram is eager to join his famous scientist mother in the field, only to discover that her newest PhD student is the ex-girlfriend who broke his heart. He vows to keep his distance from Helena, but that becomes nearly impossible when the two of them are tasked with raising an orphaned baby owl-bear together.
While taking care of a rambunctious magical wild animal, Bertram and Helena find themselves too busy fending off their cub-chick’s dangerous play attacks to fend off their resurfacing feelings for one another— and those feelings may prove every bit as dangerous.
