Severed Command by Owen Rainer (The Anchor Front Book 1)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 1.5 mb
Overview: Captain Morgan Fenwick has spent her career keeping other officers’ warships alive.
Then an alien first strike severs the Anchor Network—and leaves her in command of everything that survived.
CNS Argosy is a three-cradle fleet tender built to repair a battle group in the field, not lead one into combat. But with frontier command gone, damaged warships pouring through broken FTL routes, and thousands of civilians trapped behind them, Argosy is the only platform that can keep the survivors moving.
Fenwick’s first mission is simple: verify the next Anchor, carry warning coreward, and get the civilians out.
The enemy is already waiting.
The Rhelun cannot see the future. They do not need to. Somehow, they are reading human transit patterns well enough to put their ships in the right place before a Palisade fleet emerges. Every movement reveals something. Every repair consumes time, weapons, and options the task group cannot replace.
Fenwick must turn damaged hulls and skeptical captains into a fighting fleet before the frontier is cut apart—and outthink an enemy that has made humanity’s own procedures part of the battlefield.
