Overview: AN AMERICAN AGENT STABBED TO DEATH IN LISBON,
an undercover contact poisoned – these two violent deaths in 1944 were the prelude to vicious murder ten years later. For these men had carried $315,000 for the Allied underground, and it had never reached its destination.
Now, ten years had passed and the money began showing up in Chicago gambling houses and striptease joints. CIA immediately swung into action, assigning two of its top agents to the job of tracking down the money and avenging the brutal death of two old comrades.
With “shoot first and ask questions later” as their motto, the two men set out to crack the case, enlisting the aid of a brash newspaperman, a luscious strip-teaser—and a dying racketeer in a cell in San Quentin, whose influence still reached all over the country.
