SomeBody: a novel of halves by Laurel Doud
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 2.3 mb
Overview: Quince Bennet has felt severed all of her life, but never more so than after a dog attack when the voice of her two-faced, Jekyll-Hyde, Shakespeare-spewing dead sister took up residence in her head. To mend her life, Quince decides to face her fears by volunteering at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah and perhaps, in doing so, she can exorcise her sister’s voice.
At the sanctuary, she meets an orphaned teenager and her uncle-turned-guardian with their own misfortunes, and they stitch themselves together as a family. But life unravels them in unexpected ways, and they finally realize they need to be more like the dogs they want to rescue, To Err is Human, to Forgive Canine.
