The Demon King’s Public Defender by Wolfe Locke, Mike Caliban (The Princess, The Lawyer & The Demon Lord, a Duology Book 1)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 2.6 mb
Overview: He was summoned to slay the Demon King. That didn’t quite work out.
Johanns Faust is a 29-year-old public defender in New York City. Overworked, underpaid, and burned out, he spends his days in courtrooms trying to make a difference in a broken system. Then one morning a magic circle opens under his desk chair, and Johanns lands in a fantasy kingdom with one job: execute the Demon King and put the world back in balance.
There’s just one problem. The “Demon King” is Mephistopheles, a seven-foot warlord who inherited the throne four days ago and used her first thirty seconds in power to surrender. And Johanns knows a thing or two about what justice looks like.
So he takes her case.
Now he has six days to win over a war-weary king and a city that wants her head. He has to convince them there’s a better road to peace than a magic sword and an execution.
He just has to prove it.
