Overview: Sinners is a supernatural horror thriller set in the decaying Southern town of Hollow Bend, where a cursed hymn has haunted generations. When young pastor Elijah Wade returns home after his father’s mysterious death, he uncovers a terrifying truth: the town is under the grip of a melody born from pain, sung unknowingly for over a century. This hymn, created by enslaved ancestors as a spiritual weapon, has evolved into a force of darkness—feeding on guilt, sin, and the desperation of those who sing it.
As Elijah investigates, he discovers his father had made a deadly pact to protect the town, binding it to the hymn’s power. Teaming up with Josiah Blackwood, the last descendant of the song’s originator, Elijah delves into the town’s buried history. Strange events escalate: spirits rise, crops die, and the townsfolk become “hollowed,” their souls overtaken by the song.
Through forgotten rituals, haunted recordings, and ghostly confrontations, Elijah realizes the only way to break the curse is to rewrite the song itself. Using Josiah’s harmonica, a sacred tuning fork, and his own blood, he composes a counter-hymn. The town gathers for a final revival, where the rewritten melody frees some spirits and damns others. But though the original hymn is silenced, its presence lingers.
