Overview: Peter Crowther was born on July 4, 1949 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England; son of Percival (an engineer) and Kathleen (nee Bowling) Crowther. He completed his studies in engineering from Leeds Metropolitan University. Before turning to writing and editing full-time, Crowther was a civil engineer and communications manager.
On October 23, 1976 he married Nichola Hassam (a teacher), October 23, 1976 and they have two children.
Crowther is co-founder, along with Simon Conway, of PS Publishing, which began in 1998.
