Asphodel is one such child of the Queendom. A prince under the blooded God’s gaze, a quiet trouble settling in his heart, a solemn duty to fulfill etched into his very marrow to stand in staunch defiance of the damnable fate he had been cursed with. He gazes upon the ever-present moon, watching its ebbing and flowing whilst silently biding his time to break himself free of Lunaris’ eternal grip on humanity. It would not be much longer now until he let his heart rage and his blood flow freely.
The spark for that inferno came in the form of Anima, an Assassin born of an omen, their vile blood present in their accursed eyes. He did not gaze upon the moon lovingly like the rest of the Queendom. Nor did he ever feel at home under its gaze. He merely sought to fulfill his duty, as duty was what granted his life purpose. It was a cruel fate for Lunaris to give him, then, to allow him to cross paths with Prince Asphodel, and let him see just how vivid even a fleeting life could be, and give him something to cling to even as his heart was drawn to damnation just like the rest of Lunaris’ children.
