The inmates are insane, the guards are nonexistent, the fairies steal your contraband, and a mysterious curse has scrambled Ren’s memories so badly he can barely remember why he came to Elfland in the first place.
And to make things worse hes locked up with his ex.
Because also doing hard time is Lilac Quicksilver: elf warrior maiden, former hostage, occasional crazy ex-girlfriend, and certified stalker. If theyre going to survive the gangs that want them both shanked, theyre going to have to team up. Now all he has to do is convince her to let him give her magical prison tatts, organize a jail break, and climb a mythical tree the size of the Empire State building before the wardens spectral storm giant busts him into solitary confinement.
Its gonna be hard enough juggling a magicless elf with a chip on her shoulder, a horny thousand-year-old virgin princess locked up to keep her off the throne and a jealous black cat familiar who thinks theyre married, and thats before the mime assassins show up.
And if he knew what was going to happen next, he mightve just stayed put and done his dime…
Because waiting outside the prison is an elven royal court full of political backstabbing, mean-girl princesses, insane nobles, and a wedding nobody wants. Turns out the black-sheep Lilac has only one use to her noble family: an arranged marriage to a foreign noble a noble who happens to be one of the founders of the Black Company.
Ren is running out of time to recover his missing memories, kill an engagement, and lay down an unholy necromancer beating on the Black Company.
