Overview: Robert Kroese is an American author known for his science fiction, fantasy, thriller novels, and non-fiction works. He is the creator of the Mercury series. Raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Robert wrote his first novel in second grade, featuring Captain Bill of the spaceship Thee Eagle. His academic journey led him to graduate from Calvin College with a degree in philosophy, after which he was let go from several jobs before becoming a software developer in California. While maintaining an absurdist blog and serving as a church deacon, he found inspiration in the contrast between these roles, which helped shape his Mercury character. Kroese published his first book, the non-fiction Antisocial Commentary, in 2007, and made his novel debut in 2009 with Mercury Falls.
