Overview: Here’s a new collection from Lloyd Arthur Eshbach (1910 – 2003), a versatile writer from the Pulp Era who, like Jack Williamson & Raymond Z. Gallun, had a 50-plus year career writing science fiction, fantasy, horror, etc. We chose to avoid using stories from his earlier collection, The Tyrant of Time (Fantasy Press 1955). It was not difficult for Eshbach to get that book published, since it was he who created and published Fantasy Press for many years! One can’t underestimate the positive effect that publishers like Fantasy Press, Arkham House, Gnome Press, etc., had on the science fiction field, especially during the early days.
And, yes, we decided to have some fun with the magazine titles in the title of this book.
