Hard Reset by Ronan Kest (The Doorborn Book 1)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 1.7 mb
Overview: Days before graduation, a white flash swallowed Dallas. Cooper Johansson ran because Daria Winters told him to, and at the end of the street a glowing door stood where no door should be.
On the other side, a System hands out levels and classes, and it doesn’t care that their world just ended.
Cooper was a linebacker, now he’s a Warrior with a shield and a vow he made on that street. He doesn’t run again, and he doesn’t leave anyone behind. Daria, the smartest person he knows, is a fire mage who budgets mana like a lab experiment. Brodie, a Scottish seminary student, is finding out his prayers now get answered.
Their half-orc trainer sends them to check on his mother, whose letters have stopped. They find her village burned by men who were looking for something.
And their trainer knows more about the doors than he is saying.
