Overview: He designed the race. Now he has to keep it alive.
Game designer Evan Carter spent years creating fantasy races and enduring his boss’s endless revisions. Then all of humanity gets transported to another world—and he wakes up with scales, a snake’s tail, and a starving village depending on him.
Now known as Sethran, he’s the lord of a miserable patch of swamp. His entire army consists of ten beautiful snake women armed with stone spears. Food has run out, loyalty is slipping, and the local wildlife could trample his soldiers without breaking stride.
Fortunately, the snakefolk still have the ability he fought to get approved.
Devouring Evolution.
By devouring his enemies, Sethran can steal their traits, strengthen his body, and grant those same advantages to his troops. A monster powerful enough to destroy his settlement could provide exactly what he needs to defend it—if he can figure out how to kill it first.
He knows the race he designed. He understands how to turn a small advantage into a big one. But knowledge won’t fill empty stomachs, and an army won’t build itself.
In four weeks, his protection from rival lords expires.
That gives Sethran four weeks to feed his people, earn his warriors’ loyalty, and build a force that can hold the swamp.
He’d better start hunting.
