Overview: “Are you seeing anybody now that you’re divorced?” she asked, walking towards him with a seductive half-smile.
Angry with his ex-wife for turning up late for their appointment with Miss Taylor, their son’s teacher, David offers to help the young teacher tidy up after parents’ evening.
Whilst David struggles to deal with his son’s behavioural problems and his ex-wife’s relationship problems with the man she left him for, he finds himself in demand with the school’s staff: Ms Hargreaves, the headteacher, Miss Davidson, the school welfare officer, and Mrs Coldfield, the head of the PTA, who form a certain club and are eager to help David heal. This leads to a blind date with Ms Kilbride.
