Overview: A woman who wants to find herself, her heartbroken fae bodyguard, and a magical tea quest that might just heal them both.
Margaret has spent years studying others from the painting where she’s stuck. Until someone cuts her canvas with a magical sword, and suddenly she’s free to live her own life. Except . . . she doesn’t know how. The only familiar thing in the world is the tea shop she was originally painted in front of. So she embarks on a journey to find it and maybe find herself in the process.
She doesn’t expect anyone to follow. Especially not Ambrose, the charming fae who Margaret’s been hopelessly in love with ever since she first laid eyes on him in the castle where her painting hung.
He insists the king and queen sent him to guard her. It would be perfect if Ambrose wasn’t nurturing a broken heart and if Margaret had any clue how to act human—but all she seems to do is embarrass herself.
Yet the more time they spend together over hot tea and buttery scones, the more Margaret is losing her heart to Ambrose, and that might be the most human—and dangerous—thing of all.
