Overview: She danced one night.
Then she vanished.
At El Rincn, a Cuban strip club on the edge of Miamis underbelly, a tall blonde worked a single shift under the name Angel. She refused the VIP room, tipped the other dancers far more than she kept, and walked out the side door before last call. No real name. No forwarding address. Just the memory of a woman who treated the club like a place she needed to be seenand then never seen again.
Jake Bogie Bogus finds girls before the citys porn pipeline finishes with them. Ex-Vice, long past the badge, he works out of a small office above a laundromat and keeps his questions narrow. When the right-hand man of a powerful Cuban gang boss shows up with a photograph and a quiet offer, Bogie takes the job. Locate the woman. Report only to the top. Stay out of the official channels.
But the woman is already being hunted by more than one side.
A rival faction within the same organization wants her found for its own reasons. Someone in the police department has placed a quiet net on her face without ever opening a case file. And every place Bogie looksthe agencies, the cash motels, the late-night sandwich windows where information changes handssomeone else has already been there.
The deeper he goes, the clearer it becomes that the single night at El Rincn was never about the money or the stage. It was a message. And the man who hired Bogie is not the only one who received it.
In a city where loyalty is currency and family is the story powerful men tell about themselves, Bogie must decide how far he is willing to go to find a woman who does not want to be foundand what he will do when he learns why so many people need her to stay lost.
