Overview: All that magic and not one spell.
Tomas Brand grew up at his father’s anvil. A royal scholarship has sent him to the kingdom’s academy of magic, where the children of great houses throw fire from their bare hands.
On testing day he pours more magic into the testing stones than anyone there can remember. Then they ask him for a single spark. Three tries. Nothing.
The academy has one place for failures: the forge, where magic is worked into made things instead of thrown. They send Tomas there. He wanted to see inside it anyway.
He can’t throw magic. He can hammer it into steel. Plate by plate, he is going to build a suit of enchanted armor and wear it into a fight.
The casters can laugh. Tomas has work to do.
Adult progression fantasy: magic academy, forge crafting, enchanted armor, a rival worth hating, and a slow-burn romance. One love interest. No harem. Fade to black.
