The village has a head woman, and she isn’t impressed. Nofret, 41, carried it alone through famine and grief. Her breasts strain her linen beneath a broad beaded collar, and the whole village moves when she points. In bed, the woman who gives every order wants just one thing: to obey. Him.
Then rumour crosses the river, and the queen-pharaoh comes to look at the stranger with her own eyes. Nitokris, 36, ended the mad king’s reign herself.
